Case Studies
We have acted in a corporate deal where the client disposed of a company which operated a landfill site. The client formed a new company and reserved a complex lease arrangement over part of the site on which was located an electricity generating facility driven by methane gas extracted from the adjacent landfill. This electricity was then sold on to the National Grid. The generating company was later sold, with the benefit of the lease over the landfill site.
We have recently completed the purchase of a number of commercial woodlands for a client, to fulfil investment and estate planning objectives.
We have acted for clients in the acquisition of care homes both for the elderly and for those with learning difficulties. Purchasing care homes requires special attention to title and planning issues, as well as regulatory matters.
We have acted in the acquisition, merger and disposal of a number of professional practices, including Solicitors, Estate Agents, Chartered Surveyors and Veterinary Surgeons.
We negotiated a complex Planning Obligation in relation to a residential development site in South Gloucestershire, with an affordable housing element. This led to the grant of planning permission for the construction of 21 houses, and the subsequent acquisition of the site. We have now completed the Development Agreement and the Land Agreement with the relevant Housing Association.
